ADHD Coach Canberra
Adult ADHD Coaching & Counselling, Delivered Online Across the ACT.
The Divergent Edge is a neurodivergent-led practice offering adult ADHD coaching and counselling shaped by lived experience, clinical insight, and practical support.
ADHD rarely exists in isolation. We work with overlapping neurodivergent and life experiences without reducing you to labels or checklists.
Working With Us
You are welcome here
We are a neurodivergent-led practice. We recognise how ADHD shapes identity, energy, and daily life. Our approach is gentle, useful, and honest. It is built around you, because tools work best when you feel seen and supported.
Neurodivergent-Led Practice
We’re a neurodivergent-led team, and that matters more than it sounds. It changes how quickly we recognise patterns, how we interpret what you’re saying, and how much explaining you have to do. Many people come to us after feeling misunderstood or subtly dismissed elsewhere. Here, your experience is taken seriously.
Support That Fits Life
Most adults with ADHD already know what they “should” be doing. The gap is between knowing and being able to carry it through when life is busy, energy is low, or everything feels slightly out of sync. Our work focuses on what is realistically doable for you.
Unique Therapeutic Approach
Some weeks you might need structure and help breaking things down. Other weeks there might be more going on under the surface and it needs space. Our Therapeutic ADHD Coaching allows sessions to move between practical coaching and deeper emotional support (counselling) without forcing you into one fixed format.
Intersectional ADHD Support
ADHD is often only one part of the picture. Many clients also live with autism or AuDHD, anxiety, burnout, trauma histories, PMDD or perimenopause, or questions around identity and belonging. We hold these layers together, so support feels coherent.
Qualified Care
Our practitioners are trained and professionally accountable. The work is informed by clinical frameworks and delivered within ethical boundaries.

What ADHD Support Can Help With
Burnout And Overwhelm
When you’ve been running on stress for a long time, even small things can feel unmanageable. We look at what’s draining you, where pressure is coming from, and how your week is set up. Support focuses on reducing overload, protecting energy, and creating a pace that feels more sustainable.
Emotional Intensity And Recovery
Emotions can rise quickly and take a while to settle. Counselling creates space to understand what’s happening beneath the surface. Coaching helps you find practical ways to regulate, recover, and reduce the impact emotional spikes have on your work and relationships.
Shame And Self-Blame
Many adults with ADHD have learned to see themselves through years of criticism or misunderstanding. Counselling helps unpack these beliefs and where they came from. Coaching helps rebuild trust in yourself through small, achievable changes that add up over time.
Starting And Following Through
Knowing what needs to be done doesn’t always make it easier to begin. We work with task initiation, planning, prioritising, and follow-through in ways that fit your capacity and attention.
Relationships And Communication
ADHD can affect how you respond under pressure, how feedback lands, and how conflict plays out. Counselling supports the emotional side of these patterns. Coaching supports the practical side, including boundaries, planning conversations, and reducing repeated friction.
Masking And Identity
Holding it together on the outside can come at a real cost. Counselling helps make sense of identity, patterns, and the impact of long-term masking. Coaching supports practical changes so you’re not constantly pushing yourself to appear fine.
Stress And Shutdown
Stress And Shutdown
We look closely at what leads to overload and build strategies that reduce pressure and support steadier regulation.
Not sure whether coaching, counselling, or our therapeutic approach is the right place to start?
You don’t need to decide that on your own. We’ll help you toward the support that fits what’s going on for you right now.
Our Related Services
ADHD Coaching
ADHD coaching is practical support for day-to-day life. We help you build structure that fits your brain and your capacity, so you can plan, prioritise, start, and follow through. Sessions often focus on routines, time awareness, task initiation, decision fatigue, and creating systems you can keep using when life gets busy.
Therapeutic ADHD Coaching
Unique to The Divergent Edge, this is our hybrid service, combining coaching and counselling in one space. Some sessions are tool-focused and structured. Others need room for emotional support, identity work, or patterns that keep repeating. It’s a good fit if you want practical change, but you also know there’s more going on underneath the surface.
ADHD Counselling
Counselling is a space to work with the emotional load that often comes with ADHD. That might include burnout, anxiety, relationship patterns, self-esteem, shame, masking, or the impact of late diagnosis. Sessions are paced, supportive, and focused on helping you understand yourself more clearly.
ADHD And Autism Assessments
Our assessments take a whole-person approach, looking at your history and current experience, including overlapping traits such as autism, anxiety, and burnout.
Our Other Services
Leadership And Business Coaching
Support for neurodivergent professionals and leaders navigating responsibility, growth, and visibility at work. This includes executive coaching, organisational strategy, and neuro-inclusive leadership development. We work with individuals and organisations to strengthen confidence, decision-making, communication, and workplace systems, while supporting inclusive practices that allow different neurotypes and identities, including LGBTQI+ leaders, to work and lead effectively.
Workplace Neuro-Inclusion
We work with organisations to build neuro-inclusive systems. This can include training, advisory support, recruitment and onboarding improvements, and changes that help teams communicate and work together more effectively.
Clinical Training And Supervision
We work with Brisbane and QLD organisations to build truly inclusive practices. This can include recruitment, team communication, and training that helps everyone work better together.
Clinical Training & Supervision
Training and supervision for practitioners who want to deliver ethical, practical, neuro-affirming care.
You Don’t Need An Assessment
You don’t need an ADHD assessment or a formal diagnosis to book support with us. If you’re struggling and you want help making day-to-day life feel more manageable, that’s enough to start.
If assessment is something you want later, we can talk it through and guide you toward the right next step.
Our team
The next step is getting to know the people behind the work. On our team page, you can read about our practitioners, their backgrounds, and how they work, so you can find someone who feels like the right fit for you.
You don’t need to have it all figured out before you start. If you’re unsure who to book with, we can help guide you once you’ve had a look.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I Need An ADHD Diagnosis To Book?
No. You don’t need a diagnosis or assessment to book support. Many neurodivergent individuals start because they want help with day-to-day functioning. If an assessment becomes relevant later, we can talk through the options.
What’s The Difference Between ADHD Coaching And Counselling?
Coaching focuses on practical change, such as time management, routines, communication skills, and working toward long-term goals. Counselling focuses more on emotional load, identity, burnout, and patterns that repeat. Therapeutic coaching combines both when support is needed to cover practical and emotional work together.
What Is Therapeutic Coaching?
Therapeutic coaching blends coaching frameworks with counselling support. Sessions can include structure and goal-setting alongside emotional regulation, rejection sensitivity, and the impact of life transitions.
What Do You Work On In Sessions?
Common areas include time management, follow-through, emotional regulation, communication skills, social skills, career goals, and longer-term planning. Sessions are shaped around what’s most relevant for you.
Can Coaching Help With Rejection Sensitivity?
Yes. We can work with rejection sensitivity in a practical way, including emotional regulation strategies and communication tools. If it connects to deeper experiences, therapeutic coaching or counselling may be recommended.
Is This Support Available In Canberra?
Yes. All sessions are delivered online, making support accessible across Canberra and the ACT.
