ADHD Coaching
Providing telehealth support for adults Australia-wide.
The Divergent Edge is a neurodivergent-led practice offering adult ADHD coaching shaped by lived experience, clinical insight, and practical support.
ADHD rarely exists in isolation. We work with overlapping neurodivergent (AuDHD, 2E, sensory profiles…) and life experiences (identity, life stages, women’s health…) without reducing people to labels or checklists.
What Is ADHD
Coaching?
ADHD coaching looks at how ADHD shows up in daily life, without treating it as something that needs correcting. It works with your cognitive style, so day-to-day demands, from time management to communication to energy, feel more manageable and sustainable.
People come to coaching not because something is “wrong,” but because the same points of strain keep returning. Coaching creates space to understand those patterns, build strategies, and develop systems that support how your brain actually functions.

What Our ADHD Coaching Can Help With
Time Blindness and Planning
When time slips, the day turns into reacting. Together, we’ll build a planning rhythm you can use even when you’re tired, stretched, or behind.
Task Initiation, Motivation, and Prioritisation
The problem isn’t knowing what matters. It’s getting traction. We reduce the mental load at the start, clarify the next step, and make it easier to begin.
Follow-Through and Finishing
You can have a solid start and still lose momentum halfway through. We build follow-through that holds across the boring middle.
Emotional Dysregulation and Healthy Boundaries
When emotions surge, they can spill into work, relationships, and self-talk. Coaching builds emotional awareness and boundary skills that protect your energy and reduce fallout.
Burnout Prevention and Energy Pacing
If you live in overdrive, burnout isn’t far behind. We look at what’s draining you, what’s non-negotiable, and where capacity is leaking, then build a steadier pace.
Masking and Imposter Syndrome
Many adults with ADHD have learnt to look “fine” while feeling scrambled underneath. We work with the pressure to perform, the fear of being found out, and the beliefs that keep you on edge.
Sensory Processing and Environment Fit
Noise, light, clutter, and interruption can quietly wear you down. We pay attention to how your environment affects your energy and focus.
Why Our Coaching
Is Different
Many people come to us after support that didn’t quite land. Either it felt too clinical to be practical, or too practical to hold what was really going on. Our work sits deliberately in between.
Therapeutic ADHD Coaching
Unique to The Divergent Edge, we offer Therapeutic ADHD Coaching, a hybrid model that combines coaching and counselling into one service. This allows sessions to move between practical strategy and more in-depth reflection, depending on what you need in the moment. The work is tailored to your needs.
Intersectionalities
ADHD is often only one part of the picture. We regularly work with overlapping experiences such as autism, and giftedness or anxiety, trauma, depression, chronic health issues, perimenopause, LGBTQ+ identity and burnout. These layers are held with care, without flattening people into categories.
Qualified & Accredited
Our ADHD coaches are ICF-accredited, professionally accountable, and clinically informed. Our coaching is grounded in evidence-based practice and thoughtfully adapted for neurodivergent adults.
Neurodivergent-Led
The Divergent Edge is led by neurodivergent practitioners. Lived experience informs how we listen, what we prioritise, and how quickly we understand what’s actually happening. This often reduces the need to explain or justify your experience.
Accessible, Online, and Flexible
All coaching is offered online, Australia-wide. Sessions are designed to fit around demanding lives, changing capacity, and the practical realities of adulthood.
What Changes When Support Fits
ADHD is rarely the only thing shaping someone’s experience. Many people also live with other neurodivergent and life experiences such as autism, giftedness or trauma, PMDD or perimenopause, LGBTQ+ identity, and burnout. We take these layers into account, without reducing people to categories.
Other Related Services
If you need support beyond ADHD coaching, these services may be a better fit, either alongside coaching or at a different point in your journey.
Therapeutic ADHD Coaching
A hybrid service that brings together coaching and counselling in one space. This work can move between practical strategy and deeper reflection, depending on what’s needed.
ADHD Counselling
Counselling offers space to slow down, reflect, and work with emotional patterns, identity, and lived experience. This may be the right option if you’re looking for therapy-led support rather than coaching-focused work.
ADHD & Autism Assessment
Assessment provides clarity and understanding of your neurodivergent profile. It can be helpful if you’re seeking confirmation, insight, or formal documentation to support next steps.
Careers & Workplace Support
Support focused on work, study, and professional life, including communication, burnout, boundaries, performance, and navigating systems not built for neurodivergent people.
Working With Us
You don’t need an ADHD assessment to get started. And you don’t need to be “ready” in any polished way, either. If support hasn’t landed for you before, that doesn’t mean you failed. It usually means the fit was wrong.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is ADHD coaching covered by Medicare?
Medicare rebates apply to eligible services delivered under Medicare rules. In most cases, ADHD coaching isn’t covered by Medicare in the way psychological counselling sessions can be. If you’re unsure what applies to your situation, ask us, and we’ll point you in the right direction based on the type of support you’re booking.
Is ADHD coaching covered by NDIS?
It can be, depending on your plan, funding category, and goals. Some clients use NDIS funding for coaching supports that build day-to-day capacity and management skills, including time management, goal setting, and executive functioning skills. If you’re not sure whether a coaching session fits your plan, we can talk it through before you book.
Can workplace funding cover ADHD coaching?
In some cases, yes. Workplace supports may be available through JobAccess and the Australian Government’s Employee Assistance Fund (EAF), depending on your role and circumstances. If you’re unsure what you’re eligible for, we can point you in the right direction and help you understand what information you may need.
How does ADHD coaching differ from therapy or counselling?
ADHD coaching is practical and skills-focused. It tends to centre on daily functioning, time management, goal setting, executive functioning skills, and building systems that hold in real life. Counselling goes deeper into emotional patterns, identity, and the impact of lived experience over time.
At The Divergent Edge, Therapeutic ADHD Coaching can draw on both, depending on what’s needed. That means sessions can include emotional regulation work alongside practical tools, without forcing you to choose one lane.
How do I pick the best ADHD coach as an adult?
Look for ADHD Coaches who understand adult ADHD and take a neuroaffirming approach. Ask about training, professional standards, and whether their work is informed by clinical guidelines, not generic productivity advice. It’s also worth checking whether they work with more than “tips”, including self-awareness, emotional regulation, environmental modification, and real-world systems. If you want to see who you’d be working with, meet our team.
Are sessions online?
Yes. Coaching sessions are run via secure video conference, so you can join from anywhere in Australia.
Is ADHD coaching the same as an ADHD assessment?
No. Coaching isn’t an assessment and doesn’t diagnose attention deficit or ADHD. Coaching focuses on day-to-day support and management skills. If you’re also considering assessment, we can point you to the right pathway.
